Fort Walton Beach native Scott Gilmore is a talented performing guitarist with over 36 years of playing experience and 16 years in teaching guitar lessons across various styles, including Classical, Latin, Jazz, and Pop. He has showcased his skills throughout the Emerald Coast in venues such as Watercolor Inn and Resort’s “Fish Out of Water”, “Ceruleans Wine and Art Gallery” (accompanying New Orleans singer Rickie Comeaux), “The Gathering Spot”, “Boathouse Restaurant”, “Destin Commons”, “Grand Boulevard”, “Harborwalk”, and Northwest Florida State College (NWFS).
Scott is passionate about sharing his love for the Classical guitar. He conducts music instruction through guitar classes for North West Florida State College’s “Kids on Campus” and actively participates in the Emerald Coast Classical Guitar Association. From 2009 to 2014, Scott was the Director of Music for Dance Elite and has spent the past 4 years as part of the worship band at Christ the King Church in Santa Rosa Beach.
His teaching repertoire includes basic guitar, ukulele lessons, beginner piano, and advanced classical fingerstyle picking techniques. He welcomes beginners, intermediate, and advanced students interested in various genres of musical styles.
In addition to teaching, Scott collaborates with classical guitar duo partner and NWFS College professor Jimmy Chandler, offering their services for weddings, private parties, fine dining, and other events. He also guides both children and adults in songwriting, helping them create and perform their own songs for family and friends, and at recitals.
