Linda Chung began playing the violin at age six and has been a music teacher for 40 years. Her formal music training was at the University Southern California, where she majored in violin performance. It was during this time that Linda began her own private studio, teaching all ages and participating as an assistant teacher in the 32nd Los Angeles Magnet School. She received her master’s degree in music at the University of Central Florida, and her music internship for this program opened doors for her to teach classroom music along with assisting in the Suzuki string program.
As a performer, Linda has been a soloist and concertmaster of several chamber ensembles in Florida and Tennessee. She was a member of the Gainesville Symphony, East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra, and a sub for the Rome Symphony in Georgia. She brings her vast experiences as a performer to bear on her violin instruction, as she has successfully coached ensembles and soloists for state competitions and orchestral auditions. She has also started string programs at Learning Tree Elementary and Georgia Cumberland Academy and served as an adjunct violin professor at Southern Adventist University. She is excited to bring her passion for teaching and performance to the community of Santa Rosa Beach and surrounding areas.
