Helmut Dimmel has recently moved from Germany to Walton County Florida. His musical gifting began at the early age of seven, beginning with learning how to play the organ. Due to his rapid progress on organ, his teacher quickly advanced him to piano lessons which began his many years of classical training. As Helmut grew older, he developed a love for rock-pop music and focused on that in his teenage years. At the early age of 17, he was asked to teach other children how to play piano which helped him to mature into a good teacher. He continued his enjoyment of teaching and now has 29 years of experience as a piano teacher. His strengths as a piano teacher are helping the student identify their strengths and weaknesses which in turn enables them to develop their skills.
Helmut is currently a member of and the worship leader/pianist/organist at the First Baptist Church in Freeport. His faith in God has guided him throughout his life and he is very grateful for his musical gifting. At the age of 17, Helmut accompanied the first of many different choirs. He enjoyed actively participating in worship at various churches – both as soloist and in worship bands and has performed in weddings, concerts, and musicals in other German and European countries. Due to his experience with chord method, Helmut is able to help a student develop their ability to play by ear, identifying and using chords, tabs, and patterns. Keyboard improvisation is a fun method to learn, develops the freedom to be creative, play in bands, and yet not be bogged down by reading musical scores.
After earning his bachelor's degree in social work and education in Germany, Helmut has gained the knowledge needed to effectively educate children, young people, adults and senior adults to reach their musical goals.
We are very excited to have Helmut join our studio and share his gifting and knowledge in a gentle yet professional way.
